New at Saint-Véran: Petit train de la mine
This summer, the little mine train will take you to the valley floor, replacing the shuttle that has provided this service for many years. It will carry up to 60 passengers.
Another nice surprise for the Saint Véran train
The fare has been significantly reduced, to €3 one way and €5 round trip (free for children under 6).
Departures from Sainte-Luce will be every hour from 7.30 a.m. (except between 12 p.m. and 1.45 p.m.).
A stop is planned at the Chemin de l'Observatoire junction (the new life base opens to the public on August 1, info and pre-booking at: http://www.saintveran-astronomie.com/reservation.html).
End at the marble quarry. From here, you can discover the history of the copper mine by walking the interpretation trail, either on your own or during Nicolas' guided tours every Tuesday (http://www.queyras-nature.fr/), or set off on foot to the Clausis chapel (20 to 30 min) and the Blanche lakes and refuge (approx. 1 hour).
