Saint-Véran Mountains
La Combe de Clausis
Located on Gr 58, Tour du Queyras, the Clausis chapel is the starting point for numerous hikes to, for example, the Caramantran peak (3025 m) or the Blanchet lakes (2746 and 2810 m). In summer, a shuttle bus from Saint-Véran reduces the approach hike.

Châteaurenard peak (2930 m)

The Châteaurenard peak is well known to astronomers for its observatory at Saint-Véran, the village where the rooster pecks out the stars. Access to the mountain is easy and the panorama magnificent. In summer, edelweiss and marmots are everywhere.
Caramantran peak (3025 m)
Pic de Caramantran is one of the Queyras' most easily climbed mountains at over 3,000m. It is reached from Col Agnel (2744 m) via Col de Chamoussière (2884 m). From the summit, there are magnificent views of Mount Viso and the Tête des Toillies.

Tête des Toillies (3175 m)

The Tête des Toillies at the bottom of the Aygue Blanche valley is a pyramid of basalt, a hard rock that is more resistant to erosion. Its ascent is reserved for experienced climbers. It is reached via the Chapelle de Clausis (2366 m) and Lac de la Blanche (2500 m). Alternatively, you can admire its reflection in the Blanchet lakes (2746 and 2810 m) at its foot.
Pic de Cascavelier (2562 m)
To reach the Pic de Cascavelier, start at the Raux de Saint-Véran, cross the torrent at the Pont du Moulin bridge, follow the Gr 58 for around 100 m, reach the Lamaron hut, continue to the Croix and follow the Curlet ridge path.

Pointe des Marcelettes (2900 m)

From Le Raux de Saint-Véran, follow the route that leads to the Pic de Cascavelier, avoid it and join the gap between the Jaquette summit and the Pointe des Marcelettes
