How about a lake?

The Queyras region boasts a good thirty mountain lakes, ranging from 1854 m to 2925 m in altitude. Some of these low-altitude lakes are located on the edge of forests or in mountain pastures. Others, on the contrary, are high above the forest, in a mineral world brightened up in summer by a few brightly-coloured flowers. All these lakes are frozen in winter and covered in snow. The careless hiker, whether on skis or snowshoes, can cross them without even noticing. Some of these lakes are shown here, but not all, in all seasons.
